Here You will find links to places that we think are great value for money, a great experience or day out, useful information, people and places that have helped me develop this website and the apartment. This is my way of saying a big thank you to them and at the same time helping them as they have helped me. If you find anything useful here then please do not hesitate to tell them who sent you!
Without doubt the best Estate Agent on the island and personal friends of ours from back in England. Mike and Julie have built the largest independant estate agent on the island with island wide coverage and some of the best properties / businesses that Lanzarote has to offer across all price ranges and levels. They are both friendly and welcoming and have a fantastic business ethos! No hard selling here, just a love of the island, lots of experience and island knowledge to help you make the right decision. They moved here over 9 years ago (It really doesnt seem that long to be honest!) and have made their mark as the most trusted estate agent on the island in my humble opinion and that of many past, present and potential clients. They make a big deal about friendship and many of their client base remain good friends.
If you fancy a walk in areas of the island that you would not normally see as a tourist, ask them about the GPS treasure hunt! I will include some piccies in the gallery section of the one that I joined....... 8km of gorgeous countryside and a few challenging up and downers which started off in the clouds above Teguise and ended up in a Tapas resturant by Teguise Market with several cold Mahou's and a Bocadero that you could live off for the rest of the day! Lovely company and the chance to win a prize if you find the treasure!
Take a look at the website!
Our apartment can also be found on Holiday Lettings website. Got a property to rent out yourself? Then visit the site and get an account.
Call 0034 616117169 and ask for Rhys. Probably the best flooring company that I have ever had the pleasure to work with. They work hard and play hard (Just dont ask them about the cricket!) They are a great team and take pride in what they do and go more than the extra mile to ensure that you are 100% satisfied!
Hundreds of designs of fantastic quality, hard wearing and beautifully looking and professionally laid floors. From hardwood to vinyl, from carpet to astro-turf! These guys work hard to make sure that you get what you want, and less than the UK costs too!
I will never go anywhere else to get a floor. They even delivered samples within the UK within 24 hours so that my wife could make the colour and style decision.......hows that for service?
Located at Paseo Maritima, Playa las Cucharas, behind the Puerto Tahiche Hotel, 50m from the Old Bailey Pub on the main front at the far left as you look from the beach.
Superb Tapas prepared by Dave who is a Savoy trained Chef and served up by his wife Debbie. No non-sense great food at great prices with free Wifi if you have your own laptop, or make use of the computers there to access email and web etc. Printing and laminating services available too whilst you enjoy your food and ice cold beer, wine or spirits.
Ask for the mixed tapas to get you off to a great start! Nothing is too much for these guys..........I even learned of a new Pepper whilst I was there which they pickle and roast and is divine! I used to be "The Man from Delmonte" for a well known UK Supermarket and thought I knew everything about Peppers.......it seems not!
Somewhere relaxed to chill out and catch up in a friendly restaurant with no "PR" outside trying to get you in there!
I have used this website a lot before I went to Lanzarote to see what was around, to see where was happening and where wasn't! This is a treasure trove of information and best practice and well worth visiting. Lots of great local and island wide advice, articles and information to help you out whilst in the Canaries. The guy who runs it is Nick and seems like another no-nonsense good egg!
Check it out before you leave to get the intel on whats heppening there when you are away, or just for help in deciding if Lanzarote is for you. I swear that if you don't take a look before you go then you will miss out on lots of stuff going on!
Another great website that I have used for information. Just ignore the "places to rent" section.....well, I am renting my own place lol........but again, lots of useful information to be got from this site and thank you to them for allowing me (At the moment!)
The brand of a great wine in Lanzarote! Visit the wine museum and well worth a visit too.....hick! Look out for this locally sold wine around the island and you cant go wrong....superchilled the whites are amazing and for a lovely strong meal the reds are complimentary!
Look out for the Malvasia wines, the oldest know grape variety of which 75% of wine from Lanzarote is made grown in the volcanic ash beneath the pecon and watered from the trade winds........mmmmmmmmmmm!
Play golf at the foot of a volcano!! Not for the faint hearted, but definately worth a round played on the course designed by John Harris.
